حول Google Ads Purchases
When a client pays an invoice with real money, Google Ads learns about it as a "Purchase" conversion, so you see which ads bring sales and Google can bid better.
What Google gets:
- The value and the currency of the purchase
- A random reference, so the same purchase is never counted twice
- As with any Google Ads tag: the ad click ID, and the address and title of the page where the tag runs. That is always an empty page of the add-on's own, never a page the visitor sees
What Google never gets:
- The client's name, email, phone or address
- Invoice numbers, or the address or title of an invoice, ticket, domain or service page
- What was bought
Privacy first:
- Visitors see a short banner in their own language and choose Accept or Decline. Nothing from Google loads before they accept
- No ad personalization, no analytics and no remarketing
- Google's tag never runs on a page the visitor sees, so never where the client's name, email or phone is shown. It only loads in hidden, empty pages of the add-on's own that show nothing about anyone: one opened from a page an ad led to, which gets only the ad click ID, and one that sends a paid purchase, opened from a general page such as the client area, never from an invoice, ticket or domain page
- The choice is kept for 12 months. An "Ad privacy settings" link at the end of each page lets visitors change it at any time. Declining stops Google's tag and removes the Google Ads cookies stored on your site (_gcl_*)
Counts the right things:
- New orders (recommended), only the first order of a new client, or every paid invoice with renewals
- Wallet top-ups, wallet credit and free invoices never count
- Value with or without tax
Good to know:
- You need a privacy policy link in Settings → General, and the policy should mention Google Ads cookies
- The add-on adds three addresses: the hidden empty page for visits from an ad, and, only for signed-in clients, the hidden empty page that sends a purchase and the address it takes the purchase from. That is why it asks to show pages to visitors; visitors never see them
- A purchase is sent once, from the client's browser. An ad blocker can lose it, and a refund after sending is not taken back in Google Ads
- In Google Ads, keep "Automatically detect user-provided data" off, and add no second purchase tag
Needs Nuvabill 0.6.12 or newer.
